About the Department
The Admissions team coordinates, assesses and processes all applications and enrols students while ensuring compliance with regulatory legislation.
About the Opportunity
The Admissions Team Leader manages a team of Admissions Officers and Senior Admissions Officers, ensuring applications are assessed correctly, efficiently and in a timely manner. They also oversee the related inboxes, ensuring queries are actioned appropriately.
Essential Requirements
* Proven analytical and problem‑solving capability.
* Proven communication, presentation and interpersonal skills.
* Empathetic and strong listening and mediation skills.
* Proven planning and organising skills and ability to prioritise tasks to meet deadlines.
* Able to delegate as needed to ensure operational requirements are met.
* Line management skills that could include coaching, motivation and managing staff performance.
* Experience of working in a high‑volume data processing environment. Significant admissions experience within HE environment.
* Growing awareness of developments in higher education and external professional environment that impact on academic affairs.
* Knowledge and understanding of the work practices, processes and university regulations relevant to the role, which may include broader sector awareness.
Desirable Requirements
* Experience of performance management and individual/team KPI’s.
* Previous experience using SITS or comparable admissions systems to maintain an accurate database.
* Working knowledge of the work and activities of other areas of the University relevant to department.
* Operational knowledge of academic affairs systems in terms of admissions functionality and capability, and detailed knowledge of own service area.
