At Cavendish Nuclear, we’re working to create a safe and secure world. Join us as a Civil, Structural and Architectural Engineer at our Bristol or Warrington site.
The role
As a Civil, Structural and Architectural Engineer, you’ll support the UK’s nuclear decommissioning, power generation, new build, and defence markets with innovative solutions. Your responsibilities include designing reinforced concrete, steel, and masonry structures across all nuclear lifecycle phases, from concept to decommissioning. Projects may involve structures related to mechanical handling equipment, electrical systems, structural inspections, and site surveys across the UK and internationally. You will:
* Deliver nuclear design work, inspections, and site support for various projects.
* Conduct concept and feasibility studies for multidisciplinary design projects.
* Use engineering software like Tekla and Robot, and perform hand calculations.
* Prepare calculations, technical reports, and coordinate designs across disciplines.
* Liaise with technicians on Revit models.
* Work with multidisciplinary teams on high-profile projects.
* Ensure safety in design and office practices.
This full-time, permanent role is based at our Bristol or Warrington site with hybrid working options. Flexible working arrangements, including part-time or job sharing, can be discussed during the interview.
Essential experience
* Knowledge of the latest design codes and standards.
* Understanding of legal and regulatory standards.
* Experience designing reinforced concrete and/or steel structures.
* Experience in the nuclear industry or high hazard industries (desirable).
Qualifications
* Degree in Civil or Structural Engineering (BEng or MEng).
* Chartered or Incorporated Engineer with ICE or IstructE membership, or working towards it.
