We are seeking a Software Engineer - Developer to join the Phantom Works Autonomy & Mission Planning team in St. Louis, Missouri. This role involves supporting Boeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS) Software Engineering, focusing on software design and development for autonomous systems. Phantom Works is an advanced R&D organization engaged in cutting-edge visual modeling, simulation, prototyping, and new market development.
The ideal candidate enjoys collaborative work, is committed to customer satisfaction and process improvement, and can thrive in a multi-contract environment. They should be adaptable, eager to learn new technologies, and capable of solving complex problems with ingenuity and innovation.
This position is expected to be 100% onsite at one of the listed locations.
Responsibilities:
* Design, develop, test, and maintain non-embedded software throughout its lifecycle, ensuring compliance with industry, safety, and regulation standards.
* Translate customer requirements into initial software designs.
* Lead junior engineers in software development.
* Develop use cases and perform software architecture trade studies.
* Create interface definitions and perform unit and integration testing.
* Participate in peer reviews and support system and flight testing.
* Create comprehensive software documentation.

Basic Qualifications:
* Ability to obtain Secret US Security clearance (post-start).
* 5+ years of Software Engineering experience.
* 2+ years of experience with C++, Python, and/or Java.
* Real-time software development experience.
Preferred Qualifications:
* Bachelor’s degree in engineering, computer science, or related fields.
* Experience with autonomy or robotics software.
* Secret U.S. Security Clearance.
* Experience with Agile, simulation development, CI practices, and tools like JIRA, GIT, Jenkins.
* Software testing experience.
