Job Description
Boeing Defense Systems (BDS) is seeking an Associate/Experienced Systems Engineer to support the design and analysis of fixed wing tactical aircraft in Berkeley, MO. The successful candidate will be a self-starter capable of planning, designing, developing, and verifying system solutions within a collaborative environment. Key responsibilities include performing work in reliability & maintainability, systems safety, and human factors, as well as providing support in areas like affordability, human systems integration, survivability, and certification.
Position Responsibilities
1. Analyze customer requirements and develop reliability engineering programs.
2. Allocate reliability requirements to design teams and perform predictions.
3. Analyze product utilization and its impact on system reliability.
4. Conduct failure mode and effect analysis and develop mathematical models.
5. Create computer models to predict and improve system reliability.
6. Participate in design teams, providing guidance on reliability objectives.
7. Interface with customers and management during design reviews.
8. Determine test profiles and define success criteria.
9. Contribute to proposals and evaluate subcontractors’ reliability proposals.
10. Review specifications and suggest design modifications.
11. Observe tests and evaluate reliability factors.
12. Monitor field failure data and develop improvement strategies.
This position is expected to be 100% onsite at the listed location. U.S. Citizenship is required to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance, which is a condition of employment.
Basic Qualifications
* Bachelor’s degree in engineering, technology, chemistry, physics, mathematics, data science, or computer science from an accredited institution.
* 2+ years of experience with a Bachelor’s, or 5+ years with a Bachelor’s and Level 2 qualification, or 3+ years with a Master’s or PhD for Level 3.
Preferred Qualifications
* Proficiency in MS Office Suite.
* Experience in aerospace & defense, particularly in avionics, radar, sensors, structural, or reliability & maintainability.
* Military experience is desirable but not required.
