We are looking for an inspiring and forward thinking Chief People Officer to join our Executive Leadership Team and Board.

This is a pivotal role, responsible for delivering the full people agenda, to enhance staff experience, and to ensure CLCH continues to grow as an inclusive, values driven organisation.

The Trust is progressing to be an Advance Foundation Trust. This role will help us shape how we deliver for our staff and embed the strategy in the delivery of Neighbourhood Healthcare. As we transform the way health and care is delivered in the UK, this role will be pivotal in shaping not only our thinking and delivery, but also how we learn across our partners, systems and nationally. You will lead on the development and ongoing implementation of our 5-year people strategy, organisational development, workforce planning, and staff engagement. Working closely with the Chief Executive Officer, Board Members, and system partners, you will help ensure CLCH remains an outstanding place to work.

Job responsibilities

Person Specification


Education/Qualification

* Master's degree level education or equivalent
* Evidence of continued learning/development
* CIPD Membership
* Professional Qualifications in HR and organisational development
* Other professional development in area of role that is not within professional qualifications


Experience

* Highly developed leadership, negotiation and influencing skills with the ability to motivate, challenge and engage individuals and teams.
* Proven ability to communicate verbally and in writing fluently and confidently with individuals at all levels within the Trust and across partner organisations.
* Proven ability to set out a clear strategic direction, inspire others and build credibility.
* Highly developed interpersonal skills. Actively seek, establish and develop effective working relationships with key stakeholders internally and externally.
* Proven ability to contribute to effective board working; can support and challenge across the Trust agenda.
* Proven ability to manage ambiguity and conflicting priorities. Proven ability to analyse, interpret and present complex data.
* Understanding of equality, diversity and inclusion agenda, and appreciation of proactive approach to equality, diversity and inclusion in patient care.
* Demonstrates a commitment to the vision and values of the Trust and the NHS.
* Assumes responsibility and operates as a corporate team member. Evidence of successfully leading and developing a large team. High energy levels, resilience, and determination
* Evidence of leading system changes, with a focus on improving delivery of corporate services


Skills and Knowledge

* Several years' experience in a senior HR position, preferably at board level or equivalent senior position.
* Experience in leading complex organisational and workforce change in a multi -professional environment
* Relevant experience in successful workforce transformation, including delivery of significant workforce efficiencies
* Relevant experience in the successful management of strategic and service change Knowledge of local, regional and national factors that affect the Trust and its workforce
* Experience of working effectively across organisational and professional boundaries in complex organisations
* Experience of productive partnership working with multiple trade unions
* Experience of leading successful workforce transformation during a merger or acquisition


Other

* Having led system wide transformation or engagement, ensuring the programmes of work are delivered within resource and against plan
* A commitment to quality delivery of health services
* Understanding of QI and Cl methodologies for the delivery of change within organisational teams
* Programme and project management skills with evidence of professional development in the area
