Sales Account Manager
Location: Bedfordshire (On-site)
Direct Reports: 3
Purpose of the Role
This is an ideal position for someone commercially sharp, relationship-led and hungry to drive growth. You’ll lead a small team, manage existing accounts, win new business and bring fresh ideas to push the commercial function forward.
Key Responsibilities
Account Management & Growth
* Manage and develop relationships with existing customers, ensuring a high level of service and retention.
* Identify opportunities to save customers time and money, adding real value and strengthening trust.
* Actively spot upsell and cross-sell opportunities within existing accounts.
* Drive new business activity through outreach, meetings and consistent pipeline management.
* Take full ownership of sales forecasting, reporting and pipeline accuracy.
* Build a clear commercial plan to increase revenue across the customer base.
Team Leadership
* Lead, support and motivate a team of three, ensuring clear expectations and strong performance.
* Oversee day-to-day activity, ensuring the team delivers at pace and with professionalism.
Commercial Strategy & Campaigns
* Bring fresh ideas for campaigns, marketing angles and business development initiatives.
* Analyse customer trends and commercial behaviours to maximise revenue opportunities.
* Represent the business with confidence during customer visits, meetings and presentations.
Skills & Experience
* Proven experience in account management
* Strong sales acumen and business development experience.
* Ability to build rapport quickly with both new and existing customers.
* Strong people-management experience, ideally leading a small team.
* Confident, proactive and hungry to drive commercial growth.
* Creative approach to outreach, campaigns and customer engagement.
* Experience within Waste Management.
