We are seeking a dedicated and friendly Dental Receptionist to join our team at our mixed dental practice, providing both NHS and private treatments. The ideal candidate will be the first point of contact for our patients, delivering exceptional customer service while managing administrative duties efficiently. This role is key in ensuring the smooth operation of our practice and enhancing the overall patient experience.
Responsibilities
* Greet patients warmly upon arrival and assist with check-in procedures.
* Schedule appointments and manage the dental calendar to optimise patient flow.
* Handle patient inquiries and provide clear information about treatments, services, and insurance options.
* Manage both NHS and private patient bookings and ensure correct processes are followed for each.
* Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records, adhering to compliance standards.
* Process payments and handle billing and financial queries with attention to detail.
* Use dental software such as Carestream R4, SOE, or Sensei Cloud to manage patient data, appointments, and treatment plans.
* Collaborate effectively with clinical staff to support patient care and treatment coordination.
* Uphold patient confidentiality and comply with data protection regulations at all times.
Skills and Requirements
* Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks in a busy environment.
* Proficiency in dental software systems (preferably Carestream R4, SOE, or Sensei Cloud) and general office applications.
* Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, to interact professionally with patients and colleagues.
* Knowledge of both NHS and private dental systems, including how to communicate with and support patients under each scheme.
* A passion for patient care, with a warm, empathetic, and understanding approach.
* Fluency in English is essential; additional languages are an asset.
* Previous experience in a dental or healthcare setting is preferred; nursing experience is a plus but not required.
