Position Overview
As a key player in our team, you will set up and operate computer numerically controlled (CNC) and manual machines to perform essential machining operations. Here’s what you’ll be doing:
Key Responsibilities
* Read process sheets, blueprints, and sketches to determine machining requirements.
* Download programs from a DNC storage system and interpret work instructions.
* Select and install appropriate tooling for operations.
* Calculate feeds and speeds for various materials.
* Perform quality inspections and apply Lean Manufacturing principles to enhance productivity.
* Ensure cleanliness and organization of your workspace.
* Actively participate in Continuous Improvement initiatives.
* Work rotating Day/Back/Night shifts as needed.
What We’re Looking For
To thrive in this role, you should possess:
* In-depth knowledge of manufacturing processes and machining disciplines.
* Relevant Health and Safety awareness.
* Experience with machine control systems (Fanuc, Mazak, Heidenhain, Haas).
* Proficiency in precision inspection equipment.
* A self-motivated attitude with strong facilitation skills.
* The ability to hold tight machining tolerances of less than .0025mm.
* A positive attitude that inspires and motivates those around you.
Qualifications
* HNC Engineering preferred.
* A minimum of 5 years’ experience in a lean-manufacturing environment.
