Based within the council’s Occupational Safety & Wellbeing Team, you will be involved in undertaking health and safety audits, inspections, risk assessments including fire risk assessment and investigating accidents. A key part of the role will involve providing health and safety assistance and advice to managers as well as undertaking work to promote a positive safety and wellbeing culture.
You will ensure safety and wellbeing polices and associated documentation is kept up to date and will be involved in delivering the wellbeing programme within the council. You will also provide health and safety training in a variety of formats to our employees.
You should have a Health & Safety Qualification at degree/HND/SVQ4 level or be willing to work towards this qualification within a specified timeframe. Chartered membership of IOSH is desirable. You should be an experienced health and safety professional with significant work experience in a health and safety role and hold a flexible and dynamic approach to problem solving.
You will be required to travel throughout the North Lanarkshire area.
