Township 2 PCN is looking for a Phlebotomist to join our team and support our member practices with the aim of improving patient access and experience in practice.
Main duties of the job
* Using technical equipment to safely draw blood from patients.
* Explaining the process of blood collection clearly to patients.
* Reassuring and calming patients who may be nervous or scared of the procedure.
* Keeping track of blood samples and results that are returned after testing.
* Care coordination of services alongside our personalised care team.
* Maintaining an organised and clean work area in accordance with health and safety regulations and practice guidelines.
* Answering patient questions regarding collection techniques and providing additional resources if requested.
* Inputting general data and clinical information into electronic patient records.
* Managing own workload effectively within clinic hours.
* Working as an integral part of the practice nursing team.
* Complying with relevant legislation, policies, and procedures at all times.

We are Township 2 Primary Care Network (PCN), formed in 2019, a collaboration of five GP surgeries in Sheffield 12 and 13.

Job responsibilities
The post holder will work as part of the practice multidisciplinary team, responsible for performing venepuncture as requested by the clinical team for the designated patient population. Additionally, the Phlebotomist will support the nursing team as needed.
The role involves care coordination of services, working alongside our personalised care team.
Township 2 PCN will ensure the postholder has access to clinical supervision and an appropriate named individual for support and advice on a day-to-day basis.

* Good standard of general education
* Experience working with the general public
* Experience working in a healthcare setting
* Experience working in a primary care environment
