Are you an experienced Quantity Surveyor who excels at contractnegotiation and value engineering?
Shanly Homes - the privately-owned, award-winning regionalhousebuilder - is looking for a Senior Quantity Surveyor to jointheir Thames Valley region and be part of a successful teamdeveloping bespoke, high-end properties in and around the ThamesValley and Southern Home Counties.
What you'll be doing:
As Senior Quantity Surveyor, you will:
* Place contracts for all relevant elements of subcontractor workon our developments-
- Prepare subcontract enquiries, send out for pricing and ensurethat contracts are placed in line with the build programme
- Produce a detailed trade specific scope of works andqualification notes for all enquiry documentation
- Analyse subcontractor quotes and form a recommendation on who toappoint
- Ensure standard terms and conditions are agreed with allorders/contracts placed
* Manage subcontractor payments
- Process stage payments to subcontractors when due
- Ensure all contra charges are managed
- Carry out checks for UTR status of subcontractors
- Review and process variations in accordance with terms andconditions
* Work in partnership with other teams to ensure key dates forthe build programme are achieved
- Check drawings to ensure the proposals are practical andcommercially viable
- Regularly attend project meetings on site
- Provide cost advice for the sales team
* Produce regular reporting
- Compile full cost reports for each development, to includeservices, materials, sub-contract and prelim costs
About you
* Strong experience in a similar surveying role within aresidential house builder
* Excellent numerical skills with strong attention to detail
* Great team player
* Organised and able to work well in a busy team
