Your New Role
Whilst working as a Maintenance Engineer you will report to the Operations Manager. The primary function of this role is to ensure that all manufacturing plant, buildings and services are maintained to a level that maximises efficiency and meets all health and safety requirements.
Whilst on site your core duties and responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
Routine equipment and building repairs • Emergency repairs • Operating and updating PPM for all plant, tooling and services • Installation and commissioning of new plant • Maintenance of factory services • Maintaining a stock of recommended spare parts for process equipment • Must be available for call outs to cover breakdowns • Responsible for adhering to all company health and safety policies • Any other duties deemed necessary.
There is an on call mobile phone which you are required to take for 2 weeks at a time on a rotating basis with the current maintenance team member. It is expected that the you will be prepared to do this, and call outs can be at any time after your regular finishing hours of 17:15, this also includes during the night. If required to, you will have to attend the factory to correct the problem.
What You'll Need To Succeed
In order to be considered for this role you will need to demonstrate the following skills, experience and qualifications:
Education/Qualifications
GCSE Maths, English • Engineering/Maintenance Qualification.
Experience and knowledge
At least 1yr experience working in a busy manufacturing environment • At least 1yr experience in maintenance, repair and installation of electrical/mechanical systems • Working knowledge of equipment and building repairs • Experience of emergency repairs • Installation and knowledge of installing new plant machinery • Demonstrate experience of planned preventative maintenance programmes • Ability to deal with problems during call out • Knowledge of plastic processing equipment (highly desirable).
Skill and AbilitiesStrong problem-solving skills and able to create solutions • Organisational skills • Communication skills • Able to engage and work alongside other team members to solve repairs and contribute to repair solutions • Understand impact of maintenance within the factory environment • Ability to meet deadlines
CircumstancesAble to work overtime when required • Availability for call outs to cover breakdowns • Able to work shifts if required.

Confident and able to work unsupervised • High level of motivation/positive attitude • Action orientated • Use initiative • Computer literate.
What You'll Get In Return
This role offers an attractive days only shift pattern that runs Monday - Friday (Monday - Thursday 08:30 - 17:15 + Friday 08:30 - 13:00) with a salary of £35000 (paid monthly). This can be supplemented with an enhanced overtime rate payable for hours worked in excess of the standard 37.5 hour week. A call out fee of £25.00 per call out (min 3hrs) is also paid.
The company benefits package comprises: 22 holidays and 8 stats per year rising to 25 days & 8 stats after 8 years, Life Insurance policy, standard company pension scheme and profit related pay scheme.
