This post is full-time and permanent and will start in September 2026, or sooner if possible. Ysgol Penrhyn Dewi VA is a unique 3-16 Church in Wales school which serves the historic city of St. Davids, the peninsula and beyond. Based in the Pembrokeshire National Park, the school offers an inclusive learning environment with a Christian and community ethos. The school has a track record of high academic outcomes and is part of the cathedral and Diocesan family.
Responsibilities
The Governors are looking to appoint a deputy headteacher with leadership experience, preferably in an all-age setting. The successful candidate will:
* provide strategic leadership within the school;
* drive school improvement while role-modeling the school values and professional standards;
* demonstrate energetic, passionate leadership and effective communication skills;
* understand the complexities of mainstream and LRC provision in a multi-campus setting.
The deputy headteacher will work as part of the strategic leadership team to continue improving the school and to support pupils and staff in line with the school’s ethos.
Safeguarding and Compliance
Safeguarding is a high priority. The policy framework applies to all Council employees and workforce, councillors, volunteers and service providers commissioned by the Council. The role is subject to an enhanced DBS disclosure check. Applications should be submitted by the deadline of 05/03/2026. Qualifications & Requirements
* Leadership experience, preferably in an all-age setting;
* Ability to work effectively in a multi-campus environment;
* Strong work ethic and inspirational communication skills;
* Understanding of safeguarding, and the ability to promote safety for children and adults at risk;
* Right to work in the UK;

Desirable: Welsh language skills.
