We are seeking caring, friendly, passionate and committed individuals. If you're looking for a rewarding job that comes with excellent training and great opportunities for personal development, join Tendring Meadows Care Home as a Care Assistant and make a real difference. We are looking for candidates who are willing to provide the care and support required to achieve ours aims.
What you'll be doing
As a Day Care Assistant at Tendring Meadows Residential Care Home you will be responsible for providing person centred care to residents some of whom are living with dementia.
Your duties will include but are not limited to, assisting them to get up in the morning, assisting residents to dining rooms and serving meals, carrying out personal care and toileting as per the residents care plan and assisting them to bed at night.
You will be expected to keep accurate records throughout.
Being a Care Assistant doesn't just mean helping residents to remain as active and independent as possible while respecting their rights of choice, privacy and dignity. It means having fun and laughter with them and using your skills to help them deal with day-to-day difficulties like personal care – assisting them to get up in the morning and going to bed in the evening, meal times including assisting them during meal times. It also means working as part of a team to identify their unique goals and implement personalised care plans.
What you'll need
Experience of caring for others would be useful, not necessarily in a paid role – you may have looked after an elderly relative or friend. More important though is your kind-hearted nature, your belief in teamwork and your ability to use your initiative and imagination, follow instructions and prioritise a busy workload. You'll be comfortable talking to, and working with, people from different professions. Above all, you have a natural ability to help make the lives of others more fulfilling and want to work in an environment where the work can be hard, but also fun and rewarding.
