At First Bus, we’re proud to keep our communities moving – and our engineers play a key role in making that happen. We’re currently looking for a proactive and skilled Shift Fitter to join our Engineering team, supporting operations across our North & West Yorkshire depots.
What You'll Be Doing
You'll be responsible for diagnosing faults, carrying out servicing, and completing vehicle repairs, including preparing vehicles for MOTs – all in line with our First Bus Standard Engineering Operating Procedures. Safety and compliance are central to what we do, so you’ll also follow all Health, Safety & Environmental (HS&E) legislation and Group policies.
We’re Also Looking For Someone Who
* Is committed to maintaining high technical standards and open to developing their skills with us
* Can work flexibly across different depot locations within the North & West Yorkshire region
* Is prepared to work shifts on a 5 days on / 2 days off pattern
* Understands that some overtime may be required to meet operational needs
About You
* Do you have a minimum Level 3 NVQ standard of equivalent (i.e., City & Guilds Level 1&2) qualification?
* Do you have a flexible approach to working hours?
* An aptitude to develop others within the Engineering Team
* A PCV licence is desirable or show a willingness to obtain PCV licence; we will help you obtain your PCV
* Experience of working with coaches would be advantageous, but not a necessity.
