The Goddard School located in Southport is seeking a passionate Lead Teacher. At our School, we put our teachers first because they put our students first. No Nights or Weekends!!!

Lead Teacher Key Responsibilities:

1. Curriculum and Instruction:
o Implement age-appropriate lesson plans and activities
o Foster a love of learning through creative and engaging teaching methods
o Observe and assess children's development and adjust activities accordingly
2. Classroom Management:
o Create a safe, nurturing, and inclusive classroom environment
o Manage daily routines and transitions smoothly
o Address behavioral issues with positive guidance and support
3. Family Communication:
o Maintain open and effective communication with parents/guardians regarding their child's progress and daily activities
o Conduct parent-teacher conferences and provide regular updates
o Encourage family involvement and participation in school activities
4. Health and Safety:
o Ensure the cleanliness and orderliness of the classroom and common areas
o Adhere to all health and safety guidelines and procedures
o Supervise children during indoor and outdoor activities to ensure their safety and well-being
5. Professional Development:
o Participate in ongoing professional development and training opportunities
o Stay current with best practices in early childhood education
o Collaborate with other teachers and staff to share ideas and strategies

Qualifications:

* Associate or bachelor's in Early Childhood Education or 60 ECE hours completed.
* Child Development Associate (CDA)
* 1-2 years of previous experience working with young children in a licensed childcare or preschool setting
* Develops relationships and communicate effectively with children, parents, and faculty members
* Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. in connection with the handling of children
