Main Activities
The role will be focused on the electrical discipline but will be interfaced with other disciplines and with several parties, such as the site Contractors (composed of main suppliers and sub-suppliers), Construction teams, Quality teams, Project Management teams, or Design teams (embedded on site, or in back office). Responsibilities include:
1. Responding to general Queries, Non-Conformances, Change Request, and Exemption Requests originating from the Contractor on site, with the support of the Responsible Designer or site Experts when needed.
2. Provide adequate oversight to ensure the Nuclear Safety and Environmental Regulation requirements are met.
3. Challenge design decisions so that engineering and design align with the project strategy.
4. Assist in coordinating support from other external organizations.
5. Contribute to the resolution and closure of Open Points.
6. Assess technical risk and subsequently address this risk.
7. Maintain a strong relationship with Responsible Designer and report operationally to an Engineering Lead.
Requirements
Education: Degree or equivalent in a relevant engineering electrical discipline.
Experience: Experience in electrical design, installation, and/or commissioning. Experience applying multi-disciplinary technical knowledge within the nuclear industry.
Knowledge: Knowledge of the construction/installation industry. Knowledge of Health & Safety legislation including CDM and Nuclear Site License requirements. Experience in the understanding of welding engineering.
Skills: Ability to influence a diverse range of stakeholders, particularly those in a site environment. Ability to work independently, be proactive, report on, and escalate relevant issues.
