An exciting development opportunity has arisen to join our Response team here at Alder Hey Children's Hospital.
The successful candidate will undertake a 6-month development programme to equip them with the skills and knowledge to undertake the Senior Clinical Site Practitioner role as part of the Response team.
The Response team comprises Senior Clinical Site Practitioners and Clinical Site Practitioners, who are essential to providing safe, high-quality care to all patients and families.
Our site practitioners actively engage in all areas of the Trust, working closely with nursing, medical, and managerial staff, acting as role models, and utilizing their extensive experience to address clinical and non-clinical issues.

Main duties of the job
As a member of the senior nursing team, you will contribute to and assist the Head of Nursing (HON) in delivering the Trust's strategic direction through effective operational management. You will provide professional and clinical nursing leadership, advice, and development, and contribute to Trust-wide projects.
The post holder is responsible for managing nursing staff, maintaining quality and standards of care, ensuring safety, patient involvement and experience, safeguarding, and infection control within designated clinical areas and services, both in and out of hours (24/7).
You will provide advanced clinical care through health assessments, treatment initiation, formulation and adjustment of treatment plans, and monitoring of care pathways for children and young people within an agreed scope of practice, working alongside medical teams.
You will demonstrate effective, visible, and authoritative leadership across the Trust, including out-of-hours (24/7), acting as the responsible person for patient and staff experience and standards, collaborating with Divisional Matrons, Heads of Nursing, and Associate Chief Nurses.
You will be involved in managing complaints and acting on investigation findings to prevent recurrence as needed.
You will contribute to the Trust-wide Nursing, Quality, Education, & Research strategy on behalf of the SCSP team.
You will act in accordance with The Code of Professional Standards of Practice & Behaviour for Nurses and Midwives (NMC 2015).
