Pharmacist Advanced – Emergency Department
1 YEAR Secondment/Fixed Term (Including weekend, evening and public holiday rota commitments)
As an Emergency Department pharmacist you will be at the frontline of patient care, working alongside doctors, nurses and advanced practitioners to deliver safe, rapid and effective medicines management.
In this highly collaborative role you will lead the development and delivery of key service improvements, provide expert pharmaceutical advice to multidisciplinary teams, support critical decision‑making, prevent medication errors, optimise treatment for acutely unwell patients and contribute to life‑saving interventions. You will also provide staff training and development, supporting local, regional and national healthcare priorities.
Key responsibilities
* Lead development and delivery of key service improvements.
* Provide expert pharmaceutical advice to multidisciplinary teams.
* Support critical decision‑making and prevent medication errors.
* Deliver staff training and development.
Essential qualifications and competencies
* Master of Pharmacy degree (or equivalent).
* Registration with the General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC).
* Independent Prescribing Qualification.
* Demonstrated progress through the RPS Core Advanced Pharmacist Curriculum, including engagement, participation in a community of practice, submission of a portfolio screenshot and completion of the RPS learning needs analysis tool.
Experience and knowledge
* Proven expertise in service development, including the design and implementation of healthcare initiatives.
* Strong background in training and education, with experience delivering impactful sessions for healthcare professionals.
* Excellent communication and problem‑solving skills, enabling effective decision‑making.
