This is a key opportunity for a commercially minded Finance Manager ready to play a pivotal role in shaping financial strategy, driving operational excellence, and leading on a variety of different projects as the business grows.
The Role: Finance Manager
Reporting directly to the Managing Director, you will lead a small, dedicated finance team and work closely with senior stakeholders across the group. You will be responsible for all aspects of the financial operations of a business currently turning over in the region of £10m, while offering finance support to the leadership team, and insight into growth and profitability.
Key Responsibilities:
* Lead all core finance operations, including budgeting, forecasting, reporting, and cash flow management
* Deliver accurate and timely monthly and statutory financial reports
* Manage the audit process and ensure full compliance with reporting standards
* Develop and implement financial strategies aligned to long-term business objectives
* Partner with operational teams to deliver insightful analysis, improve profitability, and challenge costs
* Identify and mitigate financial risks
* Support capital expenditure planning and business case evaluations
* Provide commercial support to the MD, including involvement in funding projects and contract negotiations
* Review and challenge commercial proposals, identifying key risks and opportunities
* Lead, mentor and develop the finance team
* Foster strong working relationships with stakeholders across the group
About You:
* Fully qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, or CIMA)
* Background in movement of goods, FMCG sector is highly desirable but not essential
* Previous experience developing a small finance team
* Excellent commercial acumen with strong analytical skills
* Comfortable working in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
* Confident communicator with the ability to influence and engage stakeholders
What’s on Offer:
* Salary circa £60,000 - £70,000 per annum
* Company bonus scheme (up to 10% of salary based on personal objectives)
* Bonus scheme
* 25 days holiday plus bank holidays
* One day WFH (with the business going through a period of change, they do need the new finance person to be on site for at least 4/5 days to work closely with warehousing & transport)
* Working week - 37.5 hours
* Pension - employer contribution scheme - 3% of basic annual salary
* Private medical insurance - individual only.
