JOB DESCRIPTION
Personal Assistant
A LITTLE ABOUT MYSELF
I am a 90-year-old lady who lives in Rhiwbina. I like to be as independent as possible. I can mobilise independently but need to use a walking aid. Because my mobility and strength have deteriorated, I can be unsteady, and I need to take time to mobilise around my flat. I also have issues with my memory and hearing. I need assistance with day-to-day activities, such as prompts to eat and drink, assistance to prepare food, prompts to change my clothing. I can have an issue with continence because I cannot always get to the bathroom in time. I already have a PA who visits twice daily and family who do my laundry, clean my flat and attend to me but I now need more help daily with all activities of daily living. I am a friendly individual, but I am also quite private. Some days I may like to chat but if I have not slept well, if I am tired or feeling unwell, I like to sit quietly and watch the TV. I love music, love to sing, enjoy watching programs about the royal family, the war, antiques, music and films. I am able to speak some Welsh, and it would be nice to have someone to speak to who can speak a little Welsh, but this is not essential. I need someone to visit me who is calm, patient and polite. Someone who can speak clearly / fluently and at a volume I will be able to hear.
