We are working with a welcoming and supportive primary school in Orpington, Kent who are seeking an experienced and committed Year 6 Class Teacher to join their team from September 2026, covering the full academic year.
This is a full class teacher role, with responsibility for planning, teaching, assessment, marking and attendance at parents’ evenings. The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting pupils through their final year of primary education, including preparation for SATs and transition to secondary school.
The Role
1. Full-time Year 6 Class Teacher
2. Planning and delivering engaging lessons across the curriculum
3. Monitoring progress and preparing pupils for KS2 SATs
4. Marking, assessment and reporting
5. Attending parents’ evenings and contributing to wider school life
6. Working collaboratively with the year group, SLT and support staff
The Ideal Candidate Will
7. Hold QTS
8. Have experience teaching upper KS2, ideally Year 6
9. Be confident with assessment, data and SATs preparation
10. Have strong behaviour management skills
11. Be organised, proactive and committed to high standards
12. Be happy to take full responsibility for the class
