About the Role: We are looking for an experienced and reliable HGV Fitter to join our team and help keep our fleet in top working condition. You’ll be responsible for the maintenance and repair of our Scania and Volvo vehicles — including tippers, grabs, skip lorries, and articulated units — as well as providing support with basic plant maintenance when required. Key Responsibilities: * Carry out routine servicing, inspections, and repairs on HGVs to DVSA standards. * Diagnose faults and complete mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic repairs as needed. * Work on a range of vehicles including tippers, grabs, skip lorries, and artics. * Assist with fault-finding and repairs on site plant equipment (e.g. loading shovels, forklifts, shredders) when required. * Complete all necessary paperwork and job cards accurately. * Ensure compliance with health and safety procedures at all times. * Support breakdowns and roadside repairs if needed. * Liaise with the transport team and workshop manager to prioritise work efficiently. Requirements: * Proven experience as an HGV mechanic/fitter (Scania and Volvo experience desirable). * Good working knowledge of hydraulic, electrical, and pneumatic systems. * Relevant qualifications (NVQ Level 3 or equivalent in Heavy Vehicle Maintenance preferred). * Full UK driving licence (HGV Class 1 or 2 an advantage but not essential). * Ability to work independently and as part of a small team. * Flexible and reliable with a good attitude towards overtime.
