Job Description:
We have a rare opportunity working as a Handyperson working 25 hours a week, overseeing a variety of duties at our wonderful 40 bed, Residential Care Home Little Haven located in Dibden Purlieu.

Reporting in to the Facilities Manager, you will carry out skilled DIY & general maintenance work, covering all aspects of the maintenance and upkeep of the care home (both internally and externally).
As this role involves mostly working on your own, we are looking for someone with broad multi-trade experience such as basic carpentry, plumbing, electrical maintenance (such as changing light bulbs), repairs to tiling and flooring, painting and decorating and easing doors and windows.
You will be predominantly based at our home Little Haven in Dibden Purlieu, however on occasion, may be requested to provide cover or additional support at our second home, Heartland Manor in Brockenhurst. Therefore, you will need to have access to own transport.
Job Responsibilities:
General DIY and Maintenance work, ensuring high standards are adhered to across the home
Regular checks and assessments of both private and public areas, inhouse compliance
Carry out tasks within agreed time limits
Maintain accurate records/documentation associated with your work
Ensure you are always operating to Health and Safety standards
From time to time you may be expected to be part of special projects, as are reasonably required of your job role
Liaising and working closely with the Home Manager, Care Staff and the Domestic teams
Interacting with residents and care staff to help create a warm and homely environment
Ensuring to report any additional maintenance and H&S issues to the Facilities Manager and/or the Home Manager

Strong all round knowledge of multiple trades with relevant experience

Strong communication skills
Previous experience working in a Care Home is preferred, but not essential
