A fantastic opportunity has opened for a driven and forward-thinking operational manager to join the St Mary’s Acute Specialist Directorate. Our elective portfolio spans Gastroenterology, Hepatology, and Endoscopy, alongside a substantial non-elective footprint that includes two acute wards, eight downstream wards, a discharge lounge, and virtual wards.
In this role, you’ll play a key part in shaping both the operational delivery and strategic direction of designated services within the Directorate. You’ll deputise for the General Manager and work closely with our nursing and medical leadership teams to drive performance, innovation, and continuous improvement.

Main duties of the job
1. Take ownership of the operational performance of the Directorate’s services, ensuring teams are supported, informed, and working toward shared goals
2. Lead, motivate, and develop the Directorate’s business management team to reach their full potential
3. Drive delivery of financial targets by engaging teams, understanding pressures, and promoting innovative and sustainable solutions
4. Act as a confident and visible deputy for the General Manager, building strong relationships and representing the Directorate when required.
