Credit Control Team Leader Axon Moore is delighted to be exclusively partnering with an exceptional business based in the Rochdale area. This is a hands on, fast paced role where you will play a key part in the day to day running of the credit control function whilst leading a team. You’ll be reporting into a fantastic manager – energetic, knowledgeable, and with a brilliant personality that really sets the tone for the team. You'll be expected to lead from the front, and act as the driving force of the credit function. You’ll also step in for the manager when needed, so confidence and capability are key! Location: Rochdale Area Salary: Circa £32,000 Main duties: Lead and support the day-to-day operations of the credit control function, ensuring timely and accurate collections. Monitor and manage a shared inbox, overseeing workload distribution and query resolution across the team. Support team members with escalated queries and provide guidance on complex or sensitive accounts. Take responsibility for customer accounts, including vulnerable or high-risk clients, to help prevent third-party debt collection. Oversee the set-up and maintenance of new customer accounts, ensuring accurate records are held. Ensure incoming payments are allocated correctly across multiple bank accounts and customer ledgers. Reconcile customer accounts and resolve any discrepancies, unallocated payments, or disputes. Support the administration and management of Direct Debit collections. Produce regular reports for senior finance management and contribute to continuous process improvements. Mentor and develop junior team members, fostering a collaborative and accountable working environment. Person Specification: Proven experience in credit control, ideally in a senior or supervisory capacity. Confident and proactive, with a strong sense of ownership and accountability. Good working knowledge of Microsoft Excel Able to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced setting, both independently and as part of a team. Strong problem-solving abilities and a solution-focused mindset.
