Job Title: Advanced Social Worker - Integrated Front Door
As an Advanced Social Worker in the Integrated Front Door, you will lead assessments of needs and risks for vulnerable children and families in West Sussex. Your role involves triaging referrals from various sources to determine appropriate support actions, including advice from Integrated Front Door Support Officers, services from Early Help, or Social Care.
You will manage a team of alternatively qualified Support Officers, providing guidance and support, while being supported by the Team Manager and administrative staff. This fast-paced, evolving service values your voice in service development, practice improvement, and maintaining high standards. Building respectful relationships with children, families, and professionals across police, health, education, probation, and housing sectors is essential to ensure the best outcomes for children and young people.

Key Skills and Experience
1. Ability to analyze complex information and data to support prioritization and planning.
2. Expertise in specialist assessment and intervention, acting as a coach and supervisor to develop others.
3. Effective communication skills for diverse audiences, including children, families, and professionals, both verbally and in writing.
4. Recognized Social Work qualification (e.g., Degree, Post Graduate Certificate, DipSW, CQSW) as recognized by the professional body.
5. Post-qualifying award or evidence of continuous professional development at a similar level.
6. Advanced knowledge of social work concepts and practices, with detailed organizational understanding for complex cases.
7. Experience in providing timely, accurate advice and managing high-risk, complex safeguarding cases.
8. Ability to travel independently around the county, including areas with limited public transport, using pool cars or bikes.
