Finance Analyst - Defence
Join to apply for the Finance Analyst - Defence role at Turner & Townsend. Turner & Townsend are seeking a Finance Analyst to support their delivery of works in Defence. The role sits within a fast‑moving vibrant team that provides support to a range of projects and joint ventures. The individual will be a self‑starter who enjoys working with a range of stakeholders and brings financial process delivery experience and Excel capability.
Main Purpose of Role
* Carry out all financial administration related to Turner & Townsend Defence projects, in liaison with the Finance Manager
* Manage and analyse a high volume of sales invoices with acute attention to detail
* Support with Project set‑up on D365
* Chase aged debts to ensure timely cash collection and reconciliation for all cash receipts
* Check, reconcile and receive supplier invoices
* Gather data from various sources, including databases and spreadsheets, ensuring accuracy and proper formatting
* Present financial data to stakeholders clearly and concisely using visualisations, dashboards and reports
* Coordinate collation of timesheets, project deliverables and client approvals to support invoicing
* Prepare purchase orders and sub‑contract agreements
* Deal first‑hand with financial/project queries from the client and suppliers
* Costing task orders and populating cost models
* Support forecasting, budgeting, WIP and reporting
* Support the Finance Manager with ad‑hoc tasks
Reporting
This role reports to the Finance Manager and offers flexible working.
Key Performance Indicators
* Sales invoices are produced to the right quality standards and are completed efficiently and within deadlines
* Month‑end data is analysed in detail and areas of potential risk are highlighted
* Key information and data are accurately maintained
* Promote and encourage positive working relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including project teams, clients and suppliers
Qualifications
* Intermediate/Advanced Excel and Word skills
* CIMA/ACCA/AAT or previous experience within an equivalent finance role
* Previous experience within a business partnering role would be desirable
Security Clearance
Important: Before applying, due to the sensitive nature of these projects, you must be a sole UK national who is able to achieve and maintain UK MoD Security Clearance (SC). UK Security Clearance must be obtained – therefore UK nationals only.
