The Role
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a qualified Science Teacher ideally with a specialism in Biology to join the team on an immediate basis.
You will be responsible for delivering engaging and accessible Science lessons, with a focus on Biology, adapting your teaching to meet the diverse needs of the students.
Key responsibilities:
* Plan and deliver creative, differentiated Science lessons (Biology focus)
* Adapt teaching strategies to support students with SEMH and additional needs
* Foster a calm, structured and inclusive classroom environment
* Support both academic attainment and emotional regulation
* Track and assess pupil progress, adjusting planning where needed
* Work closely with pastoral staff, teaching assistants and senior leaders
About You
We are looking for a teacher who combines strong subject knowledge with a genuine passion for supporting young people who may find mainstream education challenging.
Essential:
* Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
* Experience teaching Science
* Previous experience working with SEN and/or SEMH pupils
* Strong behaviour management and de-escalation skills
* A resilient, patient, and adaptable approach
Highly desirable:
* Experience in alternative provisions or specialist settings
* Specialism in Biology
* Understanding of trauma-informed or therapeutic approaches
* A proactive and flexible teaching style
