An opportunity has arisen for the post of Corporate Project Manager to join the Design/ Construction Project Management Team.
Having completed the Band B programme, we are now in the early stages of delivering the new LEA Rolling Programme of New School Buildings together with various other Major Capital Construction Projects. The post will be responsible to a Senior Project Delivery Manager within Corporate Design and bepart of a multi-disciplinary team of property professionals. The post holderwill be required to produce co-ordinated programmes of work for capital schemes, liaison with client departments, production of timely reports/data about projects, procurement of consultants and contractors andtake individual responsibility for project management of projects as the workload dictates.
You need to be a problem solver and strategic thinker, holding an appropriate qualification; you will be IT literate with good experience of MS Office, MS Project, One Drive, Ms Planner and SharePoint. You will also need tobe proficient in the use of Autocad,A working knowledge of PRINCE 2 project management would also be an advantage.
The post will involve liaising with people at all levels within the organisation including Main Stakeholders, Elected Members, as well as with external agencies and the public. You must be able to respond flexibly to changing demands and priorities, be able to work as an individual with self-motivation as well as a good team player, a good communicator and be able to act with diplomacy in difficult and sensitive areas to achieve challenging targets and continuous improvement required on this high-profileservice area.
The hours of work are 37 per week and may be worked in accordance with the Council's flexible working hours scheme. The post will be based within the Corporate Estates Design/Project ManagementTeam at The Valleys Innovation Centre, Navigation Park, Abercycon, CF45 4SN
