A great opportunity has arisen within the Heart, Lung, and Critical Care (HLCC) Nursing Workforce and Education Team for a dedicated Nurse Education Facilitator. This role is vital for supporting the development and education of our nursing workforce, ensuring every nurse has the opportunity to excel and improve the care they offer to patients.

·Support the team in developing the workforce to work to its full potential, to include recruitment and retention, appraisal, competencies, personal and professional development, leadership skills, regular supervision, and induction.
·Experience of teaching/assessing/supervising and/or training other healthcare professionals in a formal education or clinical setting.
·Demonstrates evidence of applying current research to practice.
·Up-to-date knowledge of current clinical and professional issues.
·Post-registration qualification in or demonstrate relevant experience and competence (appropriate area of speciality).
·Assist and support the team in the delivery of the OSCE (Objective Structured Clinical Examination) programme for nurses, including supporting any administrative duties as required.
Main duties of the job
The post holder will work as an integral member of the Nursing Workforce and Education Team to deliver high-quality teaching and learning activities. Your primary focus will be to support the development, confidence, and competence of the nursing workforce through the following:
·Educational Delivery: Support the design, delivery, and evaluation of educational programmes using effective teaching and learning methods.
·Clinical Leadership: Act as a professional role model and visible clinical leader, promoting high standards of nursing practice.
·Specialised Training: Deliver simulation-focused education to international nurses and provide essential pastoral support.
·Patient Safety: Ensure all education reflects best practice and aligns with the Trust’s vision to provide exceptional care.

Detailed job description and main responsibilities
The Educator will contribute to building a skilled nursing workforce through innovative facilitation and consistent educational standards. Key responsibilities include:
·Learning Environments: Assess learning needs and plan the delivery of appropriate education for nursing staff within the clinical area.
·Simulation & OSCE: Develop expertise in healthcare simulation, devising clinical simulation teaching packages aimed at addressing patient safety and NMC requirements.
·Research & Audit: Promote and undertake nursing research to promote excellence in clinical practice and contribute to clinical audits.
·Resource Management: Ensure that simulation and complex medical equipment are in working order and maintained in accordance with Trust guidelines.
·Professionalism: Maintain personal professional knowledge and skills for revalidation, ensuring clinical practice is up to date.

Professional/ Statutory Registration
Essential criteria
1. RN1/ RN2/ RN12 or RN Child Registered Nurse on the NMC register. To hold the appropriate level for the area of speciality.
Qualifications/ Education
Essential criteria
2. BSC/1st degree (health related) or equivalent qualification/training and experience
3. Practice assessor training
4. Relevant teaching and learning experience
5. Post registration qualification in or demonstrate relevant experience and competence (appropriate area of speciality)
Desirable criteria
6. Leadership qualification ( LEO)
7. Teaching Qualification or willing to work towards
Previous experience

8. Previous post registration experience within the relevant specialty
