The Patient Safety and Incident Facilitator will support the Patient Safety team in day to day management of incident reporting across the Organisation and the post holder will be responsible for providing effective administrative support; receiving, logging, escalating, disseminating and updating Central Alerting System (CAS) alerts, Field Safety Notices (FSN's) and external incident management.
Main duties of the job
You will provide day-to-day support for the Trust's electronic incident management system and assist the Patient Safety Leads in promoting a positive safety culture. Working closely with clinical and non-clinical teams, you will help ensure incidents are recorded, investigated, and learned from effectively.
Key responsibilities include:
* Supporting staff with the use and maintenance of the electronic incident management system.
* Assisting with CAS alerts, SIRMS and external incident coordination.
* Providing advice and guidance on patient safety and incident reporting processes.
* Preparing data for analysis and supporting project work to improve safety.
* Offering administrative support, including meeting coordination and minute taking.

Job responsibilities
The main purpose of the facilitator role is to provide efficient and comprehensive support to the
Patient Safety Leads including the smooth running, maintenance and development of the
electronic incident management system:
Promote a positive patient safety culture throughout the Trust and assist the Patient Safety
Leads to co-ordinate and monitor the incident management systems within the Trust;
To support and maintain the electronic incident management system; in particular the CAS
alerts, SIRMS and external incident coordination;
Provide advice and support to staff on patient safety and incident management;
Work in close collaboration with staff in the Divisions and departments to promote good
practice in incident management;
Assist in ensuring the smooth day to day running of the Trusts incident management system;
Support staff by monitoring and resolving routine technical issues from all users relating to the
system.
Assist the Patient Safety and Incident Managers by preparing data for analysis;
Provide administrative support to the Patient Safety Leads
Support any project relating to patient safety and help Divisions achieve the improvements;
Person Specification
* Educated to NVQ Level 4 or equivalent experience.
* Knowledge of NHS systems, policies, and governance structures.
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
* Understanding of PSIRF and incident response processes.
