As a Maintenance Technician working in our Wastewater team, you will be responsible for:
1. Carrying out scheduled planned maintenance work on all equipment relating to the Welsh Water asset base in compliance with company procedures to minimize plant breakdowns.
2. Investigating plant failures and carrying out repairs quickly and efficiently to avoid service interruptions and ensure compliance.
3. Performing like-for-like installations, refurbishment, and assisting with commissioning equipment to specifications and deadlines.
4. Reading and interpreting engineering drawings to maintain correct tolerances and fits for efficient plant operation.
5. Maintaining knowledge of treatment processes and asset variations for accurate problem assessment.
6. Inspecting, repairing, installing, and testing mechanical and electrical equipment to meet legislative requirements.
7. Participating in Risk Assessments, COSHH assessments, and all health and safety protocols.
8. Assessing spares and materials needed for work, ordering additional items via the Supervisor or suppliers.
9. Implementing and maintaining the Information Management System (IMS) to ISO standards, ensuring records are audit-ready.
10. Using mobile devices to record work details and time.
11. Liaising with the Alliance Partnership to ensure effective implementation of large capital schemes.
Knowledge, Skills & Experience:
* A recognized apprenticeship in mechanical/electrical or dual-skilled engineering with an NVQ Level 3 or equivalent.
* Full UK Driving Licence.
* Ability to work independently and in a team.
* IT literate with experience in Microsoft Office.
* Practical industry experience supporting your apprenticeship and ensuring compliance with H&S procedures.
Additional Information:
* This role has a mechanical bias.
* A full UK Drivers Licence is required; a company vehicle will be provided.
* The successful candidate will participate in a standby rota.
