In this critical role, you will shape strategy, ensure operational excellence, and drive the adoption and evolution of our cloud platform as we enter an exciting new chapter of growth following our divestiture from Walmart. What You’ll Love: Define and lead our enterprise-wide cloud strategy and vision, ensuring a secure, scalable, and future-ready platform. Promote and implement modern, cloud-native architectures and platform engineering practices to accelerate delivery and innovation. Establish governance, standards, and best practices across our cloud ecosystem to drive consistency, compliance, and high performance. Lead the operational management of the platform, ensuring SLAs are consistently met or exceeded. Own the technical change roadmap, working in partnership with engineering and delivery teams to modernise cloud capabilities. Drive cost optimisation through robust FinOps practices, ensuring transparency and accountability for cloud spend. Foster cross-functional partnerships, aligning platform delivery with security, compliance, and business priorities. Build and inspire a high-performing team, working across time zones and with both Asda colleagues and strategic partners. Stay ahead of the curve, identifying opportunities to harness emerging technologies that drive productivity and innovation. What You’ll Need: Proven leadership in managing critical cloud platforms and services at scale. Experience leading agile delivery functions and realising value from cloud adoption initiatives. Deep expertise in Microsoft Azure, particularly in infrastructure, security, identity & access management, and policy enforcement. Strong influencing and communication skills, capable of engaging stakeholders across all levels of the business. Experience designing and enforcing effective cloud governance frameworks. Ability to mentor diverse, multi-disciplinary teams and foster a culture of accountability, agility, and continuous improvement.
