Job Title: Technical Services Scientist
Salary: c. £25,000
Location: Glasgow
Contract Length & Start-date: 12-month contract, immediate start date.
A fantastic opportunity is now live with a leading biotechnology company who require a talented scientist to join their Technical Services division.
As a Technical Services Scientist, you will be responsible for delivering on technical service projects aligned with departmental goals. This will include resolving technical challenges, internally and externally. You will achieve this through independent work and teamwork, as well as planning, regularly translating new knowledge into assets for the business and more!
Responsibilities:
Work independently to meet expectations and deadlines.
Regularly contributing to the advancement of the technical capability and reputation of the business by translating new knowledge into knowledge assets including:
Papers and publications
New procedures and methods
Training content
Contributing to all business improvement initiatives, e.g. Company Improvement Projects, Open Space initiatives and Strategic Tasks.
Working effectively within a team setting, following and adhering to company’s core values.
Planning and preparation of work to maximise effective use of lab resources.
Contribute to the efficient progression of Technical Service workloads and projects through planned and tailored lab work designed to meet customer requirements.
Ensuring that all work is undertaken safely and without risk to others in line with relevant standards.
Recording all lab work, maximising transparency to allow ease of interpretation, supervision and repeatability.
Delivery of fit for purpose training courses for internal and external customers as required.
Personal Requirements:
Hold a relevant scientific degree to BSc/MSc level.
Able to work to own initiative, planning and meeting deadlines.
Ability to work independently, as well as part of a functioning team setting.
