SEMH Tutor – Part-time, long-term role from as soon as possible on Mondays, Thursdays and Fridays We are seeking a dedicated SEMH Tutor to provide 1:1 support to a Year 10 female student in English, Maths and Science up to GCSE level. The school offers a calm and structured environment where pupils feel safe and supported. Staff have high expectations and work together to help pupils achieve well. Leaders are ambitious for all pupils, including those with social, emotional and mental health needs, and provide effective support to help them succeed. Duties as SEMH Tutor: Deliver 1:1 tuition in English, Maths and Science to GCSE level Support a Year 10 student with SEMH needs in a PRU setting Adapt teaching strategies to meet individual learning needs Promote positive behaviour and emotional regulation Liaise with school staff to monitor progress and adjust learning plans Create a safe and encouraging learning environment Ideal SEMH Tutor: Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or relevant tutoring experience Experience teaching in PRU or SEMH settings Strong subject knowledge in English, Maths and Science Ability to build trust and rapport with vulnerable learners Patient, empathetic and resilient approach Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or willingness to obtain one Why Step Teachers?
