What matters to us
* Degree in Land Surveying or Engineering Surveying or ONC/B Tec in Land Surveying or Engineering Surveying and 10 years of experience as an Engineering Surveyor.
* Computer competence (Excel, AutoCAD, NRG).
* Extensive awareness of appropriate instruments and associated software for varied platforms.
* Understanding of Engineering Drawings, weekly Programmes, and relevant QA procedures.
Your contribution to our company
* Leading the Survey team, including briefing and guidance of the survey team, project team, subcontractors, suppliers, and 3rd parties on the Survey management approach and relevant software.
* Defining and implementing strategies, standard methods & procedures (SM&Ps), and timetables that fulfill HS2 requirements, works information, and are compliant with all relevant standards, taking into account relevant UK government construction strategies and standards.
* Ensuring efficiency, accuracy, and timely delivery of setting out and surveys.
* Reviewing risk assessments prepared by senior Engineering Surveyors.
* Demonstrating commitment to the requirements of the Health & Safety and Environmental Policies.
* Implementing the relevant requirements of the Safety Management System within their area of responsibility.
* Ensuring staff have access to the Environmental Policy and are kept informed of environmental developments and issues.
* Developing survey budgets, assessing actual costs, reviewing monthly, and taking appropriate actions, including reporting changes.
* Advising on technical advances and current best practices to optimize survey control and setting out methods.
* Ensuring survey and operations teams have the necessary resources available to avoid impeding the construction programme.
* Clash Prevention – providing spatially coordinated data that is accurate first time, in accordance with SCS BIM Policy.
* Internal liaison with Project Management, Engineering, QA, and Cost Control teams.
* External liaison with HS2, subcontractors, suppliers, and stakeholders.
* Developing, guiding, and mentoring the survey team in skills and competencies, fostering collaboration to optimize work contribution.
* Driving innovation, EDI, and upskilling of the survey and project teams for next-generation survey approaches and continuous improvement.
