This is an exciting opportunity to join a new residential and outreach service; Together, We Can, in York for children and young people.

The successful applicant will fulfil the role of a Residential Care Practitioner in the home but will have specific responsibilities and take the lead in working with young people and supporting the wider team in the area of substance misuse.

You will be part of a multi-disciplinary team, based in the home comprising of a Clinical Psychologist, Police Liaison Officer and Residential Practitioners.

You will work closely with colleagues from different external agencies in developing an understanding of the local challenges, identifying themes, trends and intelligence that will assist the team in developing an informed approach.

We would welcome applications from those with lived experience who have been involved in supporting young people.

The post will be based at Wenlock Terrace and involves shift work, including evenings and weekends on a rota.

This role is suitable as a job sharing position.

As this role is public facing, applicants will need to demonstrate, at interview, their competency to converse and provide advice and guidance to members of the public, in spoken English to CEFR level C1: Can express themselves fluently and spontaneously, almost effortlessly. Only a conceptually difficult subject can hinder a natural, smooth flow of language.
