Overview

Responsibilities
* Ensure effective, compliant, and timely delivery of planned and reactive maintenance works, including small‑scale additional works.
* Maintain strict adherence to Health & Safety standards and MOD‑specific requirements.
* Lead and coordinate supply chain teams, ensuring operatives are qualified, equipped, and delivering high‑standard quality, value, and safety.
* Review Risk Assessments and Method Statements, carry out job inspections, and record activity in CAFM systems.
* Ensure statutory compliance – Legionella, Asbestos, Confined Spaces protocols – and hold relevant appointments such as Authorised Person or Responsible Person.
* Act as key point of contact for MOD clients and end users, building trusted relationships and addressing issues proactively.
* Manage budgets, control risk, and contribute to future maintenance planning while promoting Zero Harm and sustainability initiatives.
Qualifications
* HNC in Building, Civil, Electrical, Mechanical Engineering or equivalent experience and a management‑level H&S qualification such as SMSTS.
* Proven experience in planned and reactive maintenance and managing small construction or engineering projects.
* Strong problem‑solving mindset and ability to motivate and lead teams.
* Effective communication with teams, clients, and contractors.
* Open to taking on key site responsibilities such as Space or Legionella Authorised Person roles and participating in an out‑of‑hours on‑call rota.
* Strong IT skills, particularly in Excel and Word, and commitment to professional development.
