About the Role:
We are seeking an experienced Mechanical / Senior Mechanical Engineer to join our growing MEP (Building Services) team in Plymouth.
This is an exciting opportunity to work on large-scale, sustainable building projects across multiple sectors including commercial, residential, heritage, and industrial. You will lead the day-to-day technical delivery of mechanical design services, oversee high-quality design outputs, and mentor junior team members, contributing to their professional development.
You will work in a collaborative environment, delivering intelligent, sustainable designs that support our clients’ net-zero ambitions and enhance the built environment.
Key Responsibilities:
· Lead mechanical design services on multi-disciplinary building projects.
· Produce and review design deliverables including specifications, drawings, and schedules.
· Oversee technical quality and ensure compliance with project requirements.
· Support commercial success through invoicing, WIP management, and resource planning.
· Mentor junior engineers, graduates, and apprentices, fostering career development.
· Collaborate with architects, multidisciplinary teams, and clients to deliver innovative solutions.
· Apply BIM processes and Revit software for design production and coordination.
Required Skills:
· Proven experience as a Mechanical or Senior Mechanical Engineer in the UK.
· Strong understanding of mechanical systems and MEP solutions across varied building sectors.
· Experience with BIM processes and tools, including Revit.
· Collaborative mindset with excellent communication and teamwork skills.
· Ability to mentor and guide junior engineers.
· Strong problem-solving and project management capabilities.
Educational Qualification:
· HNC, HND, Bachelor’s, or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or Building Services Engineering.
· Chartered status (or working towards it) preferred.
· Relevant professional certifications advantageous.
