Band 6 GU/Health Adviser
Due to retirement, there is a rare opportunity to become a Health Adviser/integrated GU Nurse within Sexual Health. We are looking to appoint a hardworking, motivated, and energetic individual to join our well-established Sexual Health team at the Chichester clinic. The ideal candidate will have excellent HIV and sexual health knowledge, supported by current experience in a sexual health/HIV setting. Previous or current experience as a sexual health adviser would be advantageous.
This is a full-time position, but part-time hours will be considered. The post may require coverage on some Saturdays (ad hoc basis).

The department is part of the West Sussex Integrated Sexual Health Service, with clinics in Worthing and Crawley.
Main duties of the job
1. The post holder will support the Team Manager in developing the Integrated Sexual Health Service (ISHS), working towards meeting Key Performance Targets and standards.
2. The post involves promoting the treatment, control, and prevention of STIs, providing information and counselling, and supporting other agencies involved in sexual health.
3. Ensuring service provision aligns with national and local strategies, including the Department of Health '15 Steps' quality criteria, and supporting Patient First initiatives.
4. Taking clinical responsibility for partner notification to support public health, following BASHH guidance and outcome measures.

Job Responsibilities
Manage clinical workload effectively, prioritize through triage, and collaborate with team members. Conduct complex risk assessments for STIs and BBIs, offer relevant tests, discuss treatment options, and liaise with senior staff as needed.
Person Specification
Essential Qualifications:
* Registered nurse with degree-level or equivalent knowledge.
* Recognized qualification or significant experience at Band 5/6 in GUM, HIV, or Health Advising.
* Post-basic qualification in teaching, assessing, or mentorship.
Desirable Qualifications:
* Health Advisers Module, CASH qualification, Counselling qualification.
Essential Skills:
* Specialist knowledge in sexual health.
* Autonomous working to PGDs or nurse prescriber status.
* Post-qualification experience, management skills, research implementation, data collection, and workload planning.
Desirable Skills:
* Previous experience as a Health Adviser.
