Overview
Managed Clinical Network (MCN) & Improvement Manager West of Scotland Cancer Network role at NHS Scotland. Based at Gartnavel Royal Hospital, this post supports the West of Scotland Cancer Network to work with clinical teams and drive improvements in cancer care across the region.
Responsibilities
* Provide comprehensive management and service improvement support to the MCNs and regional workstreams for cancer.
* Lead and drive forward the work of the MCNs and the delivery of delegated work streams that form part of the regional and national cancer work programme.
* Initiate work streams, develop and agree work plans with responsible leads and timelines, lead project groups, undertake preparatory work and progress regional actions.
* Work within a multidisciplinary team with a wide variety of colleagues, both clinical and non-clinical, to ensure delivery of tangible improvements in care delivery.
* Work closely with the WoSCAN senior management team, other MCN Managers and Clinical Leads to progress improvement initiatives and cross-cutting projects.
* Contribute to service planning, redesign and improvement, and to the development and implementation of regional/national guidelines; establish and maintain a programme of clinical audit.
Requirements
* Degree level education.
* Project management and service improvement experience.
* Have held a management or senior clinical role within the NHS (or equivalent large complex organisation) for at least 3 years, delivering change and service improvement.
* Knowledge and understanding of cancer care is highly desirable.
* Ability to work flexibly across disparate and diverse organisations and understand medical terminology and jargon.
* Ability to manage multiple tasks and switch quickly from one project to another.
Details
* Hours: 37 per week, 9am-5pm, Monday-Friday. Flexible hybrid (home/office) working model to meet the needs of the Network.
