The Role
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a permanent, Specialist Community Dietitian to join our dynamic team in NHS Lanarkshire.
You will provide a specialist Nutrition and Dietetic service to community based patients across NHS Lanarkshire and act as a source of expertise for patients, other health professionals, GP’s and consultants in the above geographical area. You will undertake outpatient clinics, domiciliary visits and remote (video/telephone) consultations. The role will allow you to be responsible for own clinical caseload within a defined geographical area.
Additional Information Specific to the Role
This highly clinical role will have a focus on:
1. Nutritional support and enteral feeding for patients with / at risk of undernutrition, including supporting patients post hospital discharge and with ongoing community care
You may be required to act on behalf of the Team Leader and Clinical Leads for Nutrition Support and Enteral Feeding for operational issues and provide clinical support, contributing towards service development including representation at relevant meetings and forums. You will also be an active participant in the Training of Student Dietitians.

What we'll need you to bring
2. Registered Dietitian with valid HCPC Registration
3. Educated to/working towards/operating at Degree Level
4. Post graduate expertise within speciality / area of practice that demonstrates the required breadth of knowledge required to lead safety, effectively and efficiently.
5. Comprehensive knowledge of clinical guidelines and standards within the speciality / area of practice.
6. Specialist knowledge and experience of relevant conditions, pathology, policies and procedures associated with the speciality/area of practice ensuring that the level of expertise can be utilised to deliver leadership within speciality / area of practice.
7. Leadership skills to enable the day to day management of service delivery.
8. Further education/evidence of Continuous Professional Development in area of speciality including study days/courses/post graduate qualification
9. The post holder will possess excellent team-working/leadership skills and have the ability to motivate others and work using own initiative
10. Excellent listening, communication and interpersonal skills.
11. Effective time management skills
12. Working knowledge of basic information technology
13. Car driver with a full, valid UK/EU/EEA drivers licence

It would be great if you also have
14. Member of PENG/Attendance at PENG course or willingness to do so
15. Knowledge of current Enteral Feeding, nutritional support and ONS Best Practice Policies

The working pattern for this role is: Mon - Fri, 9-5pm
