We’re working with a specialist engineering business that is looking to bring in a Graduate or Junior BMS Control Panel Designer to support their growing project workload. This is an excellent opportunity for someone at the start of their career in electrical design who wants hands‑on experience within building automation and HVAC controls.
In this role, you’ll assist with producing control panel designs, electrical schematics, wiring diagrams and documentation under the guidance of experienced engineers. You’ll gain exposure to industry‑standard design software, BMS/HVAC systems, electrical components, and design compliance requirements—while developing your technical skills and progressing towards more complex design work.
What you’ll be doing
Supporting the design of BMS and HVAC control panels
Assisting with electrical schematics, panel layouts and wiring diagrams
Helping to prepare Bills of Materials and component lists
Working with project engineers to ensure designs meet standards and project requirements
Participating in design reviews and making updates based on feedback
Maintaining accurate documentation throughout each project
Learning industry design tools such as AutoCAD or EPLANWhat we’re looking for
Degree, Diploma or relevant qualification in Electrical Engineering, Electronics, Mechatronics, or similar
Some exposure to electrical design (university projects, modules, work experience or placement)
Interest in building automation, control systems or HVAC
Understanding of basic electrical components (PLCs, relays, contactors, power supplies etc.)
Good attention to detail and willingness to learn
