Fluor and Energy Materials, an Orbia business, is hiring for a Global Business Development Manager – Pharma to be based at Thornton Science Park, Cheshire, UK.
Hybrid role with up to 50% domestic and international travel.
Main Purpose
The Global Business Development Manager will be responsible for identifying and capturing value in the Fluor and Energy Materials business transition to lower carbon footprint solutions for the pharmaceutical industry. They must possess strong leadership, interpersonal, and negotiation skills, as the role involves writing business proposals, coordinating with stakeholders, assessing business strengths, identifying customer needs, and fostering business partnerships. The manager will own an opportunity pipeline of intangible assets and services, working closely with technical and sales teams to serve pharma customers beyond the sale of propellant.
Main Responsibilities
* Develop the IP licensing business for the business unit.
* Manage and optimize value related to F-Gas quota systems globally.
* Build and manage a project pipeline of lab services related to regulatory approval of metered dose inhaler formulations.
* Research and establish relationships with prospects, identifying and advancing opportunities with decision makers within client organizations.
* Lead development proposals tailored to client needs, including pricing strategies.
* Manage objections by clarifying points of agreement and working through differences to reach positive outcomes.
* Collaborate with technical staff and internal teams to meet customer needs and develop additional revenue streams.
* Attend industry events and conferences, providing market insights and trend feedback.
* Present to and consult with senior management on business trends to develop new services.
* Work with the sales team to promote innovations, understand market needs, and support the implementation of market plans.
Qualifications
* Desirable: Advanced degree in business, engineering, or sciences.
Knowledge/Experience Required
* 7+ years of sales/business development experience in IP licensing and sales of intangible products and services.
* 5+ years in the pharmaceutical industry with deep knowledge of the business and technical aspects of the value chain, key players, regulatory, application requirements, and material solutions.
* A global, forward-thinking, collaborative, and innovative mindset.
* Ability to thrive in self-motivated, fluid, and dynamic environments balancing immediate and long-term needs.
* Strong interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills with the ability to build and maintain lasting relationships.
* Experienced negotiator capable of reviewing contracts and proposals.
* Aptitude for developing and growing strong technical and business relationships with customers, external partners, and cross-disciplinary teams.
* Impact and influence capabilities with marketing, commercial, and technical teams.
