Recruiting for a support worker for a young adult with physical and cognitive disability
We are recruiting for a female support worker with experience of working with adults who have an brain in jury in the community.
The role of the support worker is to provide a rehab approach to the young adult to enable them to develop skills to life an independent life. The role will require to provide cognitive strategies using compensatory aids to develop the persons life skills.
As a support worker you will assist in planning and implementing a cognitive rehab plan working alongside the psychologist, and with external professionals from statutory and private sector.
The position requires you to work in the persons home supporting with planning and managing activities of daily living. Part of the role is supporting the parent with management of her children.
The role is challenging but rewarding and we need a person who has experience in this field of work and understands the cognitive rehabiliation approach.
You must be a car driver and we pay for mileage
Benefits:
Competitive hourly rate of £ dependent on experience and qualification in physical and cognitive needs- candidate's must be prepared to work weekends/ after 3pm to 8pm
Morning support is from 7am to 10am
The hours are 25 per week working weekdays alternative weekends
5.6 weeks annual leave pro rata
Ideally have your own transport which you will receive a mileage allowance

Responsibilities:
The role is to support a young person in the family own home ; with the aim to support the YP to be as independent as possible.
Your role is to follow support plans developed by her Rehab team to support the person to improve their physical, cognitive and emotional wellbeing with the aim of reducing social isolation and integration. assist with improving her parenting skills and develop working relationship
Essential to have a qualification in level 2 and above in health and social care
Desirable to have a qualification in cognitive rehab
Minimum experience of 2 years working in a cognitive rehab setting
Ideally You must have a valid UK Driving Licence
Applicants must have the right to live and work in the UK
Job Types: 20 hours with opportunity to work extra shifts- working weekends and week days after school and in school holidays
Hours – are flexible but we need someone on a Monday to Friday from 3pm-8pm and weekends to take out to the community
Plus in school holidays the hours will increase to support in the day and evening
