Job Overview
Join a nurturing team to support Children and Young People in our new 8‑bed High Intensity Environment/PICU at Alumhurst Road, Bournemouth. Driving is desirable as you may need to transport young people to homes, placements, activities or medical appointments.
Key Responsibilities
* Provide exceptional care to young people aged 13‑18 experiencing complex mental health conditions.
* Assist in organised activities, support a safe and supportive environment, and offer emotional support.
* Make accurate records of patient observations and enter data into the RiO patient records computer system.
* Report complaints from young people, families and carers to trained staff on duty.
* Carry out other duties appropriate to the role as requested by the nurse in charge.
Qualifications and Requirements
* Previous experience in healthcare desirable but not essential.
* Strong communication skills and a compassionate approach.
* Valid driving licence (desirable).
* Must successfully complete a five‑day Prevention and Management of Violence and Aggression course.
* Applications from candidates requiring current Healthcare worker sponsorship to work in the UK are ineligible.
Shift Patterns
* Early – 07:00 to 15:00
* Late – 12:00 to 20:00
* Twilight – 16:00 to 00:00
* Nights (enhanced pay) – 19:30 to 07:30
* Long days – 07:00 to 20:00
