Unified Comms Technical Project Manager - 6 months - Outside IR35 - Hybrid
An experienced Unified Communications Technical Project Manager is sought for an initial 6-month contract, working with a Public Sector organisation in the North Manchester area. This position is Outside IR35 and requires a hybrid presence, with 1-2 days per week on-site.
The successful candidate will lead the delivery of a major infrastructure upgrade as well as shape the future Unified Comms strategy. Although this is not a hands-on technical role, a deep understanding of Unified Communications technology-especially Cisco Business Edition-is essential.
Key Responsibilities:
* Project manage a hardware refresh at one site and software upgrade across two locations, including Cisco UCS platform components and BE6000 stack.
* Oversee full life cycle from planning to delivery, including vendor coordination, testing and operational handover.
* Collaborate with the operations leadership team to create a business case for migrating to a unified, cloud-based UC platform.
* Contribute to technical discovery and strategy-addressing cloud scalability, licensing models (UCL/UWL), UCaaS options, hybrid integrations and TCO analysis.
* Engage stakeholders to translate complex technical concepts into clear deliverables aligned with business goals.
To be considered for the role, you must have:
* Demonstrable experience managing UC projects-particularly involving Cisco Business Edition (BE6000/BE7000).
* Understanding of key Cisco technologies such as Unified Communications Manager, Unity Connection, IM & Presence, and Expressway.
* Strong experience developing and presenting business cases for technical transformation.
* Exceptional communication and stakeholder engagement skills across business and technical teams.
* Proven track record of delivering projects to tight deadlines within regulated or enterprise-scale environments.
