Blackpool Operating Company is seeking a highly skilled Marketing Manager to support their marketing efforts for Blackpool as a premier tourism destination. The Marketing Manager, as part of the marketing leadership team, will be responsible for delivering against revenue and volume targets and will support the Marketing Director’s strategy for the resort.
The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of the tourism industry, exceptional communication skills, and a passion for showcasing attractions and experiences to existing, emerging, and new markets. As the Marketing Manager, you will oversee the marketing strategy, manage relationships with internal and external stakeholders, devise innovative ways to reach new markets, grow brand awareness, and drive revenue and volume.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Strategic Omni-channel Marketing: Support and execute an overarching marketing strategy that aligns with the demands of a fast-paced, results-driven environment. Ensure the strategy is dynamic and responsive to emerging trends and market demands.
2. Content Creation: Lead the development of engaging content for social media, blogs, and promotional materials that highlight Blackpool’s attractions and offerings.
3. Campaign Development: Design and manage innovative marketing campaigns to boost volume and revenue during peak and off-peak seasons. Track and report on campaign effectiveness for ongoing improvements.
4. Brand Management: Ensure consistency in messaging and alignment with Blackpool’s branding across all channels. Maintain and enhance the resort’s reputation through traditional and digital marketing tactics.
5. Partnerships & Collaborations: Forge partnerships with local businesses, government agencies, influencers, tourism boards, and event organizers to enhance the profile of attractions.
6. Marketing Monitoring & Reporting: Regularly monitor marketing activity, provide reports on key metrics, trends, and public sentiment. Use insights to adjust strategies as needed.
7. Develop and Grow Market Share: Grow and enhance market share compared to competing destinations, supporting the goal of increasing footfall and positive sentiment.
8. Brand Development and Management: Uphold brand guidelines and maximize branding opportunities internally and externally.
Key Skills & Qualifications:
1. Experience: Minimum of 5 years in marketing, with at least 2 years in a senior leadership role, preferably in tourism, hospitality, or destination marketing.
2. Industry Knowledge: Strong understanding of the tourism industry, especially seaside resorts, cultural attractions, and family-friendly destinations.
3. Leadership: Proven ability to lead and motivate diverse marketing teams and collaborate across organizations and stakeholders.
4. Communication Skills: Exceptional written and verbal communication abilities.
5. Marketing Savvy: Deep knowledge of media relations and managing high-profile campaigns across multiple platforms.
6. Creativity: Ability to develop innovative and engaging marketing campaigns.
7. Education: Degree in Communications, Marketing, Journalism, or related field preferred.
