Location: Lakeside Lounge, Grays Department: Sales Reports To: Lounge Manager Working Hours: 37.5 Hours per week – Weekend and Bank Holiday availability required About Sofa Club At Sofa Club, we’re on a growth journey and we’re only just getting started. As one of the UK’s fastest-growing furniture brands, we’re redefining the industry with bold designs, seamless service, and big ambitions. With our brand presence expanding into new lounges across the country, we’re looking for energetic Sofa Hosts to help bring fashion home. If you thrive in a customer-facing environment, love connecting with people, and know how to turn browsers into buyers, this is your chance to jointheclub. Role Overview This role is central to creating an unforgettable lounge experience. As a Sofa Host, you’ll be the first point of contact for our customers – welcoming them in, listening to their needs, and helping them choose their dream sofa. From guiding them through the sales process to keeping the lounge stylish and on-brand, you’ll make sure every interaction feels easy, enjoyable, and memorable. Unlike our showrooms, the lounge is a smaller, more exclusive space. You’ll be the sole representative, trusted to deliver outstanding service and drive sales independently. You’ll build strong customer relationships, sharpen your product knowledge, and work towards ambitious sales targets – all while representing Sofa Club’s signature style. Key Responsibilities Customer Assistance: Greet and engage with customers in a friendly, professional, and approachable way. Product Knowledge: Develop a deep understanding of our sofa ranges – from materials and styles to features and functions. Sales Process: Guide customers through the full journey – from first interaction to order completion. Customer Information: Provide clear advice on specifications, pricing, warranties, delivery, and aftercare. Closing Sales: Confidently overcome objections to secure sales while ensuring a positive buying experience. Customer Service: Handle questions, feedback, or complaints with professionalism and empathy. Visual Merchandising: Ensure the lounge always looks stylish, welcoming, and on-brand. Sales Targets: Meet (and exceed) sales targets, celebrating successes along the way. Upselling & Cross-selling: Recommend additional products and protection plans to boost sales. Product Trends: Stay up-to-date with furniture trends and competitors to inspire customers. Skills & Experience Required Proven experience in sales, ideally within furniture or retail. Strong communication and interpersonal skills – a natural people person. Excellent customer service mindset with the drive to go the extra mile. Knowledge of furniture materials, interiors, or design principles (preferred). Confidence working independently – you’ll be running the lounge solo. Proficiency with point-of-sale systems and basic IT. Physical ability to move and arrange furniture (if needed). Working Conditions The lounge is located within a busy shopping centre, requiring the ability to manage high customer traffic and handle challenging situations with professionalism. The role may require standing for extended periods throughout the day. Flexibility is essential, with weekday, weekend, and evening availability required. You will be exclusively accountable for a single lounge space, working independently while staying connected with the wider Sofa Club team. What You’ll Get Be part of a growing brand with real creative freedom and input. Access to a supportive and ambitious team culture. Opportunity to grow your career as we scale our in-house comms function. Competitive salary & Commission & bonus scheme. Lucrative bonus scheme 28 days annual leave bank holidays Enhanced family leave Health insurance
